Mental Health Issues/Disorders

There are five types of mental health issues, these being:
- Mood disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Personality disorders
- Other mental disorders (those that don't fit into the category's above)

So you might be thinking "OK I've heard some of the above, but what is mental health and mental health issues? How is it different from other things like bullying, relationships etc.?"

Well mental health is a persons condition in regards to their psychological and emotional well-being.
A mental health issue is when this well-being becomes out of control, stops us from doing things and impacts our life. The overwhelming feeling can effect our mental state and it is hard to cope. There are many different on sets of a mental disorder/issue but today we are just talking about the category's and disorders within them.

Types of mood disorders include:

- Postnatal depression
- Bipolar disorder
- Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Depression
- Circadian rhythm

 Types of psychotic disorders include:

- Unwelcomed voices
- Psycosis
- Schizophrenia

Types of Anxiety disorders:

- Obsessive Compolsive Disorder (OCD)
- Acute stress disorder
- Panic disorders
- Phobias
- Anxiety

Types of Personality disorders:
- Borderline personality disorder:

  • Your emotions are usually a lot more intense then others around you
  • Feeling lost or abandoned 
  • Often behave in a risky manner
  • Mood changes all the time
  • Trust issues
  • People think your behaviour is unusual
  • Find it hard to get along with people and in social situations 
  • Problems at work, school and everyday situations

Types of other mental health issues:

- Autism
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- Attention Hyperactive Deficit Disorder (ADHD)
- Other behavioural disorders
