Resilience

Resilience is being able to bounce back and recover quickly after hardship or difficulties.
To possess good resilience we can use positive self-talk. Self-talk is what we say to ourselves in our head and out loud.
Our self-talk can either be positive or negative. Many people often talk to themselves with negative language that is derogatory and destructive to our success . Having positive self-talk however can boost our success and improve our well-being and sense of self.

Knowing that negative self-talk can have a detrimental effect on our actions is the first step to achieving positive self-talk and building resilience. If something happens in our life that pushes us down we can use positive self-talk to bounce back quicker.

Examples of how we can switch negative self-talk into positive self-talk:

"I know I am never going to finish this" to "I can power through this work easy if I knuckle down"
"I really suck at maths" to "If I put more effort into maths I can make my parents proud!"
"Damn I failed the test" to "I put in my best effort and I improved my marks from last time"

If you possess positive self-talk you are developing resilience and strength to get through tough times easier. You will be setting a good example to those around you.
